Every month we update you on the highlights of what’s happening in your union.

  1. Regular MEC Meeting in Detroit & Resolutions

The MEC met in Detroit for their third regular meeting of the year. The MEC voted on 35 resolutions at the meeting, which can be viewed on the Delta MEC Secretary page. Resolutions included approval of LOA 17-01 Maternity and Bonding Leave, confirmation of committee chairs, resolutions of appreciation, and resolutions to prepare for upcoming Section 6 negotiations.

  1. Safety always a Focus

Your Aviation Security Committee urges you to log into the Employee Self Service portal (ESS) in DeltaNet and check that both your cell phone and email address are accurate. This will ensure that you receive timely information and assistance from the Company if/when an emergency occurs while you are on an active rotation or layover.

  1. August Pilot Unity Building (PUB) Events

The Delta Pilot Network held two base PUB events in August. The Salt Lake City Fish Fry & Wild West Barbeque saw more than a hundred attendees, with pilots and their families enjoying a day outdoors with swimming, food and fun. The event was attended by local council representatives, as well as MEC Chairman Bill Bartels and Vice-Chairman Ryan Schnitzler.

At the regular MEC Meeting in Detroit, more than 200 pilots and their families attended a PUB at The Henry Ford Museum. PUBs are a fantastic opportunity to engage and interact with your union representatives in a casual environment.
