- 2018 Open Enrollment Started October 30
Open Enrollment for 2018 health and wellness benefits began on Monday, October 30 and will be open through Friday, November 17 at 11:59pm ET. The Delta MEC reminds pilots to print the confirmation sheet after completing enrollment. Make sure you are prepared by reviewing the 2018 healthcare options on the Open Enrollment HQ available on DeltaNet. On the Open Enrollment HQ website, you will find an extensive list of in-person seminars and webinars available for all employees. The Retirement and Insurance Committee’s 2018 Open Enrollment video is an additional resource. For additional questions, contact email@example.com.
- Deadhead Seat Selection Procedure Update and Continued Tracking
After months of tracking deadhead issues and continued communication with the Company, pilots can now change seats and upgrade to a Comfort+ seat (if available) within 24 hours of departure. Details of the change and new process are listed on the Deadhead Booking Guide, available on DeltaNet via the Flight Ops Weekly Update for October 25. The MEC continues to actively track seat selection issues related to deadheads and company business travel. If you have experienced one of these issues, the MEC asks that you complete an ALPA Pilot Report (located on the Delta MEC homepage) with the details of your experience.
- Q4 QCQ Distribution and Critical Errors
Q4 QCQ is now available and accessible via your respective Fleet page on DeltaNet. All other QCQs should be completed prior to beginning Q4 to avoid pay and completion record issues. In the Fatigue Risk Management section of the 4Q QCQ, there are errors on slides 16, 19 and 20. These errors are associated with FAR 117.25(e) rest periods and the definition of an FDP. Details of these errors and their corrections can be found in Scheduling Alert 17-15.
- Ongoing Scope Educational Series
As we negotiate the terms of the Aeroméxico JV, we’re reminded how important scope protections are to pilot careers. If you haven’t already, we encourage all pilots to read Part 1: Where We Started, Part 2: Where We Are, and Part 3: Where We’re Going of the Scope Educational Series.
- Making the Fatigue Call
The Delta MEC Fitness Review Board published Making the Fatigue Call detailing the FRB Process and factors to consider when submitting an FFDR. As a reminder, a well-documented FFDR paints a complete picture for the FRB. Pilots should explicitly state that they felt fatigued or unfit for the duty assigned and detail what caused the fatigue, including any operational factors that may have contributed to their fatigue. A breakdown on the pay decision and an expansive FAQ section are also addressed in the document.
