Dots on a Map Episodes 4 & 5

The popular MEC-produced scope podcast Dots on a Map, focused on Section 1 of our PWA, has two new episodes available:

R&I Roadshow Live Video and Wrap-up Podcast

A live video from the Atlanta Retirement & Insurance (R&I) Enhancement Roadshow is now available to all pilots. To assist you in finding relevant areas of interest, here is a time-stamped table of contents. In addition, the R&I Working Group answer the most common questions received at the Roadshows in a wrap-up podcast. 47th ALPA Board of Directors- Washington D.C. October 15-18

The Board of Directors, the highest governing body of ALPA, is made up of representatives from every local council within ALPA. Delta has 19 local council reps who serve on the BOD, and there are currently more than 200 BOD members representing 35 ALPA member airlines and over 61,000 pilots. The BOD is responsible for amending the Constitution & By-Laws and electing national officers, among other things.

At the October meeting, the BOD elected the ALPA National leadership for the 2019-2022 term.  Join us in welcoming the following ALPA National officers:

  • ALPA President: Captain Joe DePete, FedEx
  • First Vice President: Captain Bob Fox, United
  • VP – Administration/Secretary: Captain Bill Couette, Envoy
  • VP – Finance/Treasurer: Captain Joseph Genovese, United

Hurricane, Wildfire and Natural Disaster Support

From hurricanes to tornadoes, earth quakes, wildfire, flooding and more, much of our country has been impacted by natural disasters this year. If your home has been affected, your union is here to help. The Delta Pilots Furlough/Emergency Relief Fund and Pilots4Pilots are available to provide relief in the form of grants or no-interest loans to pilots who have directly suffered the effects of natural disasters. If you need assistance, please call the office at 800-USA-ALPA during normal business hours to apply for assistance from the fund.

November Regular MEC Meeting—Atlanta

The Delta MEC met in Atlanta for the November Regular MEC Meeting. In attendance at the meeting were all of your LEC reps as well as MEC committee chairs. These Regular Meetings give the MEC committees an opportunity to update the MEC reps (and all pilots) on their works-in-progress and upcoming efforts. Notable topics covered included: preparations for upcoming Section 6 negotiations, scope challenges and opportunities, scheduling issues and much more. The MEC also works to review resolutions, give direction (as needed) and discuss current issues. The meeting summary, committee reports, resolutions and presentations can be found on the MEC Secretary’s page at alpa.org/dal. All pilots are invited to the attend these meetings.
